For the National Weather Service office at Davenport (Quad Cities), it has been a very active year for severe weather. Severe storms once again visited eastern Iowa early Tuesday morning with three EF-1 tornadoes surveyed over Delaware County. Based on unofficial IEM archives, the featured chart presents the number of year to date Tornado Warnings issued by the office since 1986. The 2026 total of 86 warnings easily surpasses any previous year. Unfortunately, more chances of severe weather are in the forecast for much of the remainder of this week.
